Insure your existing VUB Loan additionally. You can do this within 180 days of drawdown. For more information, please contact any branch or Contact us.

Why is it a good idea to insure your loan? We know that unexpected events can cause financial difficulties. Repaying your loan is difficult in these situations, so it's a good idea to set up insurance to protect you and your loved ones.

In the event of an insured event, the insurance company takes over your obligation to make the monthly repayments. This gives you insurance protection throughout the life of the loan.

OUR TIP

Anticipate! Set aside at least a few euros each month, as much as your financial budget allows. And create a financial reserve that can cover 1-2 payments in case of unexpected situations.

Do you need to defer or reduce your repayments? The decision depends on your income shortfall

Income reduced for a few months

In this case, you have the option of using the Standard Deferment.

Extend the repayment period of your loan to the maximum.

You can use this solution, for example, during parental leave, or if you are on sick leave for a long period of time, or in other cases if you need to reduce your monthly expenses. The amount of your repayment will be lower and you will lighten your budget.

Ask your banker or visit any branch for more information.

When can you apply for deferment?

  • If you find yourself in an unexpected situation - job loss, temporary loss of income. The condition is not to be more than 30 payments late on any loan.

What if you have already taken advantage of the LEX - KORONA deferment?

  • Don't despair, you still have Standard Deferment available. Anyone who has not used it more than once in the past can apply for it.

How do I defer my repayments?

  • You can use the Standard Deferment for up to 6 months, 2 times during the entire repayment period. This will take the pressure off you at a time when repaying the loan is difficult.
  • Although forbearance does not mean forgiveness, it will help you to cope with a more difficult period. The loan will continue to accrue interest during the grace period and you will only pay back this interest when the grace period is over, along with the remaining repayments.
