Student’s Account

Cash deposits via ATM are free of charge for all bank accounts, including the Student’s Account.

Cash withdrawals from a VUB ATM or an Intesa Sanpaolo ATM abroad in euro currency are free of charge,

The fee for withdrawing cash with the Youth Card from an ATM in Slovakia (outside VUB) and abroad is € 1.20. This discounted fee is intended for clients up to the age of 27 years and in the case of withdrawals in euro currency. In case of withdrawals in other currencies, the fee is 2.5% of the transaction. The cross-border conversion fee is not charged for transactions made in euro currency (applies to all types of accounts in general).

Foreign banks of the Intesa San Paolo Group are sister banks that, like VUB Bank, belong to the Group. You can, for example, withdraw money from an ATM there without a fee. These banks include:

Up to the age of 20, your account is automatically free, and you do not need to provide proof of study. After you turn 20, you need to submit a proof of study at any VUB bank branch or send it to som_student@vub.sk to ensure that you continue to use your account for free. Submitting the proof of study once is sufficient and you will have the account free of charge until you turn 30. Without submitting proof of study, your account will be changed to a VUB Account for Young People with a 50% discount on the account maintenance fee.

If you are 15 years old, you do not need a legal guardian to open a Student’s Account. If you are already our client, you can set up the account yourself at a bank branch, online via Internet Banking or in the VUB Mobile Banking application.

If you are not yet a client of the bank, you can set up your account at any bank branch or online via the VUB Mobile Banking application. All you need is a valid ID card and an active Slovak mobile number.

The Student’s Account or Account for young people will be automatically transformed into a standard VUB Account. We will stop providing the student benefit from the month in which you reach the age of 30.
There is no need to apply for anything, the payment card will remain functional as well. Such an account will be charged as a VUB Account. In addition, it is possible to get up to 100% discount on the account maintenance fee thanks to the Loyalty Reward.
