VÚB named Bank of the Year 2025 by Trend

The TREND TOP ranking of the most successful businesses has announced its winners for 2025. VÚB Bank, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, took first place in the Bank of the Year category.

During the gala evening, representatives of TREND magazine presented a total of nine awards. VÚB Bank was named the best bank in Slovakia for 2025.

The TREND Bank of the Year title is synonymous with healthy financial condition and is also a significant confirmation of our correct long-term strategic direction and the high-quality results that have resulted from it. The evaluation is based on objective financial indicators that reflect our ability to manage the bank effectively while also meeting our long-term profitability goals.

After international awards from Euromoney and Global Finance, we also greatly appreciate this prestigious recognition on the domestic market. About the TREND TOP awards

The winners in three categories were determined by financial indicators. These are the TREND Bank of the Year, TREND Insurance Company of the Year, and TREND Industrial Company of the Year 2025 awards.

Nominations in the categories TREND Manager of the Year, TREND Investor of the Year, TREND Company of the Year, TREND Family Business of the Year, TREND Exporter of the Year, and TREND Businesswoman of the Year are selected by TREND in cooperation with partners in each category. The winners of these six awards are decided by: the editorial board (1/4 of the votes), partners (1/4), readers (1/4), and prominent figures in economic life in the TREND barometer (1/4).

TREND Bank of the Year evaluation mechanism

The selection of nominees and winners in TREND Bank of the Year depends exclusively on objective criteria. The first is return on assets as one of the key indicators of profitability. The second is the growth of the bank's assets in a given year, and the last main criterion is the percentage ratio of costs to revenues, which indicates the efficiency of a given financial institution. For each of the three key parameters – return on assets, change in assets, and cost-to-income ratio – each bank can earn one to five points. The institution that earns the most points wins the TREND Bank of the Year title.
