VÚB Bank has supported the further development of Bratislava's Ružinov district. Ružinov will use the €12.2 million investment loan for important infrastructure projects, which will also improve the quality of life for its residents.
These funds will support necessary capital expenditures, including the construction of a new elementary school and kindergarten, the reconstruction of important roads, the expansion of parking spaces, and the construction of playgrounds.
"For us at VÚB Bank, supporting municipalities is more than just financing individual projects. It is an investment in communities, quality of life, and infrastructure that serves people every day. Our cooperation with Ružinov has been ongoing since 1991 and is based on mutual trust. We believe that strong city districts create stable communities, which are the foundation of a healthy economy and urban development. We view public sector financing as a commitment. It must be responsible, transparent, and sustainable in the long term in order to bring real and lasting benefits. That is why we strive to be a partner who understands the needs of local governments and is able to support them systematically, not just on a one-off basis," says Jozef Kausich, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VÚB Bank.
In addition to him, the ceremonial signing of the investment loan for Ružinov was also attended by Paola Papanicolaou, Chief of International Banks Division at Intesa Sanpaolo, Giuseppe Ferraro, Executive Director of Corporate, SME and Small Business at Intesa Sanpaolo's International Banks Division , and Vedrana Jelušić Kašić, Advisor to the CEO of VÚB Bank for Corporate Banking.
Ružinov is one of the largest and most dynamically developing districts of Bratislava, and last year its representatives decided to use an investment loan from VÚB Bank to finance the expansion of primary and nursery school capacities.
"If local governments want to solve issues that have been neglected for decades, they cannot rely solely on financing from their own resources. Without responsible planning, we would not be able to build the schools and kindergartens we desperately need, nor would we be able to carry out the renovations that will provide residents with a quality of life worthy of a 21st-century European capital," said Ružinov Mayor Martin Chren.
