Relations with shareholders represent a very important basis of business activities of VÚB Bank. Therefore, the Bank seeks to communicate with all shareholders with maximum transparency and to ensure that they are properly informed by applying the principle of equal access to information. In compliance with the provisions of the Commercial Code and other applicable legislation, VÚB Bank is also governed by the Code of Ethics, the principles of shareholders’ rights and the system of one shareholder = one vote.

One of the main obligations of VÚB Bank in relation to suppliers is the responsible social and environmental practices. The attributes that characterize the responsible behaviour of VÚB Bank in relation to suppliers can be defined as transparency, equal opportunities and efficiency, both in the selection of suppliers and in the process of defining the internal supply processes. An inseparable part of the relationship between the Bank and its suppliers is the signing of the document “Honest Declaration of Compliance with the Principles of Corporate Social Responsibility,” by which suppliers declare compliance with the legal order of the Slovak Republic, along with the principles of ethics, transparency and morality.

VÚB Bank as a financial institution does not have a direct negative impact on the environment through its activities. Nevertheless, all entrepreneurial activities are implemented in a nature-friendly manner and, in decisions and processes, it respects the principles of sustainable development, nature conservation and the environment. The Bank tries to reduce the negative direct (arising from the Bank’s activities) and the indirect (created by clients and suppliers) environmental impact by mapping environmental indicators, based on which measures are adopted and procedures for their implementation defined.
