with Mobile Banking
Mobile Banking is the fastest and more secure method to confirm card payments on the Internet. You only need an activated VUB Mobile Banking application and you can confirm your card payment on your mobile device with Mobile PIN or with your fingerprint / Face ID.
You choose to pay with your VUB Mastercard or Visa card on the Internet. You enter card data (card number, expiry date and security code from the back side of the card) and then your card payment will be redirected to the 3D Secure authorization. You start by choosing the language – English or Slovak.
You choose the method of authorization or you will be automatically redirected to the Mobile Banking authorization.
Mobile Banking authorization will start with a push notification delivered to your mobile device. You should click on this push notification.
You confirm your payment with your Mobile PIN or with your fingerprint / Face ID. A 200€ limit applies to a payment confirmed with fingerprint / Face ID.
After successful authorization you will be redirected back to the merchant.
Confirmation of an internet payment by card via SMS code and card password:
For security reasons, if you use an SMS code as a security element for internet payments by card, it will be necessary to also enter your card password. You can check or change your card password in Internet Banking, Card detail section, at any time (available for the cardholder only).

When making an internet purchase at a merchant that supports 3D Secure, you must select payment by Visa or Mastercard card. Enter the card details (card number, expiry date and security code from the back side of the card). You will subsequently be redirected to verify the payment by card with 3D Secure, where you can first select your preferred language.
Choose the method of verification of your payment by card (in case you have multiple security elements activated).
If you have chosen verification via SMS code and card password, enter the code from your SMS sent to your phone number, and your card password. If you do not remember your card password, please check it in advance in your Internet Banking, Card detail section.
After successful verification of your payment, please, return to the merchant’s website.

If you don’t have the Nonstop Banking service, you will not be able to pay with your card at merchants supporting 3D Secure. Nonstop Banking can be opened online here or at any VUB branch. Nonstop Banking service is provided with zero fee and also confirmation of card payments is also free of charge.

What do I need to confirm a card payment with VUB Mobile Banking?
You need internet connection and the VUB Mobile Banking application has to be installed and activated on your mobile device. Receiving Push notifications has to be allowed in your mobile phone and also in your VUB Mobile Banking application.
The push notification was delivered to my mobile phone but I cancelled it by mistake. How can I proceed?
If the push notification was not delivered or was cancelled by mistake, please open your VUB Mobile Banking application. There is a waiting authorization alert and then you can continue in the card payment confirmation process. In case you do not confirm a card payment in the reserved time, we will send you an SMS message with your security code.
The 3D Secure verification was successful but the purchase was not completed and the payment was unsuccessful. How can I proceed?
The card payment was not authorized successfully. Payment authorization is a process of the verification of the card transaction. The transaction can be declined due to insufficient card limit or account balance, card blocking status etc. Also a faulty internet connection can be one of the reasons.

Please call Kontakt service immediately - 0850 123 000 (from Slovakia) or +421 2 4855 5970 (from abroad). We will check this transaction and we will deactivate or block your card permanently in case of a fraud attempt. Card deactivation / card blocking can be also performed directly by you in your VUB Mobile Banking application.
