VÚB is the Bank of the Year Again

Bratislava, November 10, 2010 – VÚB bank, a member of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, defended the last year’s success and won the prestigious prize the Bank of the Year awarded each year by the economy magazine Trend. Following the Euromoney Awards for Excellence, it is already the second award for VÚB bank this year.

The evaluation model of TREND compares traditionally ability of banks to grow their market shares in deposits as well as in loans, their profitability, and operating efficiency. This year, the assessment included a new parameter focused on monitoring of risk costs as well.

Trend emphasized that VÚB focused on sustainability of the business already in the pre-crisis period and worked on improving the efficiency e.g. by a well-thought-out investment in the information systems. The evaluators consider exactly this foresight a key to success.

This year, VÚB bank succeeded in defending another prestigious award as well, namely Euromoney Awards for Excellence, which journalists and professionals from the British magazine Euromoney granted to VUB as the best bank in Slovakia.
