The Banker: VUB bank is the best Bank in Slovakia
Bratislava, 7. noveber 2009 – VUB bank, member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, received this year another prestigious international award – The Bank of the Year in Slovakia from The Banker magazine. It is the third award in a row following the Bank of the Year from the Trend magazine and the Euromoney Awards for Excellence, awarded by journalists and experts from British magazine Euromoney.
„This award only proves that our achievements are not coincidental. To receive so many prestigious awards especially in the time of crisis is a great support and at the same time also motivation for any bank. In long run we are working on improving our processes and services which then reflects also in our achievements,” said Ignacio Jaquotot, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of VUB bank.
Besides, VUB is the most successful banking institution in the financial products competition GOLDEN COIN 2009 which was judged by 58 experts, including the economic journalists, representatives of broker companies, universities, research institutes and professional associations. Out of the nine banking categories VUB was awarded 5 Golden, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze Coins. In addition, products of the bank’s daughter companies VUB Asset Management, VUB Leasing and Consumer Finance Holding were also awarded.
“Awards that VUB received this year have proved that we are on a good road to improvement of clients´ satisfaction and loyalty and thus achievement of our vision - to be viewed as the best bank in Slovakia by our clients”, added Ignacio Jaquotot.
The Banker magazine grants the award „Bank of the Year“ every year. It is one of the most prestigious media of the world. It has been published since 1996 by the Financial Times Business. The Founder of The Banker was ex-editor of the Financial Times Brendan Bracken. The Monthly regularly covers the most important news from retail and company banking, informs about technological development, product innovations, software development, and provides profiles of individual countries and comments and opinions of internationally recognized experts. VUB bank received the award The Bank of the Year in Slovakia from The Banker magazine twice in the past – in 2004 and 2006.
