Ignacio Jaquotot to become a new CEO of VUB
Bratislava, July 11, 2007 – Ignacio Jaquotot, currently holding positions of the Deputy CEO and Vice-chairman of the Management Board of VUB, will replace Tomas Spurny, who, after five years in positions of the Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of VUB, has decided to leave the bank at the end of July 2007. Nomination of Mr. Jaquotot was approved by the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo yesterday.

We are number one in mortgages, the first one to come up with new products, and at the same time we have a significant exposure in corporate social responsibility projects. My mission will be to not only follow the set-up trend but also make VUB the first choice for people,” said Mr. Jaquotot.
Ignacio Jaquotot has been involved in all important changes that have taken place in VUB since his arrival to VUB in 2005. He has been working for Intesa Sanpaolo Group since 1984. Prior to VUB engagement, he had held senior credit risk management position in headquarters of Banca Intesa in Milan. As a seasoned senior executive, Jaquotot held CEO and other senior positions in Intesa Sanpaolo subsidiary banks in Spain, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. Jaquotot was born in Zaragoza, Spain and holds law degree from University of Madrid. His designation as the Chairman of Management Board and CEO of VUB bank is subject to approval of National Bank of Slovakia.
