Start Account

Start Account is an account designed for young people between 15 and 26 years of age who can benefit from modern bank services provided under favourable conditions.

Students and young people can open Start Account under favourable conditions. 

Students are not charged any monthly account maintenance fee for Start Account.
Non-students are charged a monthly account maintenance fee of EUR 0.30 for Start Account.

The account for students and non-students includes the following:

• current account maintenance in EUR with a progressive interest,
• account statements sent by post quarterly (semi annually, annually),
• issue/reissue of one MasterCard or VISA Classic payment card to the account holder¹,
• enter and change standing orders and direct debits,
• Kontakt Service, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking,
• provision of an authorized overdraft on account^2.

Discounted products:

• virtual VISA WebStandard payment card free of charge,
• 50% discount on a monthly account maintenance fee for one FCY account (USD, CZK, CHF, GBP),
• 50% discount on a monthly fee for Internet Banking Plus.

If you are a student, we provide extra discounts on services you use most often:

• all Nonstop Banking transactions free of charge (one-off transactions made via Internet Banking, Mobile Banking or KONTAKT)
• all accounting items as payment card payments with a merchant free of charge
• the first 2 accounting items made as an ATM cash withdrawal free of charge

Applicable to students after presenting a certificate of study at a secondary school or university.

² After meeting the criteria set by the bank.

And on top of that:

An option to apply for a Visa EURO<26 card with double use – a debit payment card and a bonus card EURO<26.

Annual membership fee for the EURO<26 license is divided into 12 installments and included into a monthly fee for the Start Account.
The card offers an option to make use of the whole network of EURO<26 discounts and benefits in Slovakia and in Europe, an option to enter contests and different events and to make use of extra benefits on your Start Account.

You may get insurance for free having met the following conditions:

• The credit balance on your Start Account in the total amount of at least EUR 100 per month
• At least 6 transactions made on Start Account per month

The insurance coverage:

• Insurance covering loss, or theft of documents
• Insurance covering theft of keys
• Insurance covering SIM card misuse of a lost or stolen cell phone

Insurance begins on:
A customer is insured as of the first day of the month following the month, when s/he satisfied the conditions of insurance origination. The insurance is always valid for one calendar month.
The funds are protected under the Deposit Protection Fund.
