VUB Group, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, earned in 2009 operating profit of EUR 253 mil., slightly above 2008 and net profit of EUR 141,7 mil., 15.9% below 2008. The Group’s net loan portfolio reached EUR 5.9 bil., representing 3.5% y-o-y growth. Retail loans went up by 10.9%.

At the beginning of February VÚB bank, member of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, purchased from Prva slovenska investicna skupina a 30% stake in VUB Leasing and thus, became its 100 % owner. Today, the General Meeting of the company also approved changes in the company’s management. Miloš Bikár will become a new Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of VÚB Leasing as of February 15, 2010.

Pursuant to Act No. 118/1996 Coll. on Deposits Protection as amended, a trading company / cooperative is obliged to deliver to the Bank a statement whether the company is/is not required to have its closing financial statements reviewed by an auditor.

It is the third award in a row following the Bank of the Year from the Trend magazine and the Euromoney Awards for Excellence, awarded by journalists and experts from British magazine Euromoney.
